Because you must all have experienced this annoyance too: someone is about to or is already doing something funny / amazing / fatal, so you scrabble for the phone, leap into camera-mode with the touch of a button, line-up the laughing / crying / dying subject and hit the shutter button. Then keep on hitting it. Then press even harder. Then press some more, and even more, until you can feel the bone of your finger grinding slightly against the phones feeble plastic body, and then, just after the crucial moment when the subject of your desperate attention falls over / falls over / dies, the picture takes. And you curse and you curse, even as the ambulance takes your friend away, because you’ve missed another picture.

Not so, so they claim, with the recently announced LG Louvre. And why is that, you ask? Because the LG Louvre GC990 features – along with its 12 megapixels, HD video recording and impressive little Schneider Kreuznach lens – something called… wait for it… Zero shutter Lag. Which, as the minority of you out there who can read past a primary school level will know, means that the shutter, when pressed, will have no lag time before taking the picture. Hurrah, we say. Sadly, the phone is barely out of its concept nappies. So there’s nothing more to say except have a gander at these current LG mobile phones, or at this LG Louvre review instead.

Which is all well and good. But, being ever so slightly more intelligent than, say, stones, or goldfish, we realised that there was something a little similar about this. So we dug deep into our archives, hired teams of private detectives, and finally came across the blog post we wrote a staggering week or so ago about the LG GT500, whose features include:

- GPS
- Push email via Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
- Wi-Fi (TM)

And even after hiring more detectives and even holding the two phones up against each other and squinting, we’re still stumped about what’s different about the LG GT505. There’s a cynical voice in us that says LG’s just given the GT505 a different name so it can offer it EXCLUSIVELY to Orange to peddle to their customers, whilst the LG GT500 has been promised EXCLUSIVELY to T-Mobile followers.
